Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice that involves moving the body into positions (asanas) that stretch, strengthen, restore, relax, and or rejuvenate the body, mind, and spirit. These timeless postures are intentional and accompanied by the breath. Performed on a yoga mat, the practice has a ton of positive side effects for your physical, psychological, and emotional well-being.

move into stillness

When many think of yoga, they often think of flexibility and a stereotypical image of someone who is fit and graceful. This gives the impression that this is what one needs to be to benefit from the practice and if one is not that image, that it should be the goal. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

Yoga supports all body shapes, sizes, and stages to be able to further their connection to the self. The self that is connected to the whole, but is on a very individual journey outside of societal expectations, pressures, and judgements.

However flexible or inflexible you think you are, the good news it, yoga isn’t about that. It’s about how you show up and move in ways that fit for you.

The body becomes the tool for each individual to still their inner waters, quiet the mind and voices input from the outside world, feel and sense the messages from with, and with this practice, the inner voice becomes bolder; making it more natural to follow ones own path with more ease and confidence. Yoga is your tool, adjustable to your unique vision, your unique body, and for your desired result.

Yes, yoga is also a physical practice – a way to access how we do anything. The practice can make you stronger, more supple, and affects your bones. There are several compelling studies on bones density and the practice of yoga which can prevent and reverse bone loss.

Yoga can be the physical base for everything else you do from sports to picking up heavy objects.
