“I believe in the human capacity to make change through awareness. Even in our over-stimulated society, we can use tools that signal the brain and nervous system to relax and reset.”

I came to the practice of yoga 18 years ago to heal a knee injury. I enrolled in a yoga practice to enhance the range of motion in my knee and find a deeper reason for having a knee injury in the first place. I got that and a whole lot more! I won’t go into a whole autobiographical story of my past because the work of mindfulness really involves getting out from underneath our own stories, but let’s just say I had a lot of questions…

Can we chart our own path? What does it mean to be able to change our minds? How can we navigate our own lives? Is it possible to feel peace and contentment most of the time? Are our genes our fate? These questions and my own healing journey have set the stage for the work I offer you today.

My current work is a culmination of years of experience, as I guide heart and cancer patients to heal through the power of connection with the breath, the body, the mind, and the heart. And now -I offer it to you- my passion and purpose to guide you to good health in mind, body, and spirit.

I began as a fitness trainer, helping skiers in Colorado stay on the mountain. I was a runner and loved any sport you put in front of me- partially as an escape from the stressors in my own life. Later, I took a deep dive into how people learn and how to teach it by pursuing a Masters degree in Education. Later, this led to a teaching position at UNCW as a lecturer. Meanwhile, also pursuing yoga teacher training, I turned to the mind, body, spirit connection for further insight into myself and the understanding of others.

"Holly’s approach to meditation draws on practices such as meditation, visualization, breath work, and incorporates body/mind/heart awareness. She will show you how to use meditation skills as everyday life tools to help you think positively, feel better, manage triggers to stressful moments, and look after your health. She embodies what she teaches."

Robert S. • Meditation & Mindfulness Student

"I was always an exerciser and ate mostly healthy- but I still didn’t feel great and often lacked energy. The missing link was the practice of accepting myself and becoming aware of my own thinking which sabotaged my self-confidence on a regular basis. I learned how draining this cycle is! Through practices that I learned from Holly, I began to change my own mind and truly feel what it feels like to be healthy."

Todd G. • Mindfulness Student
